Description

ABOUT THE WINERY:

St Michael Eppian is today considered one of the most important names in South Tyrol, a real guarantee for lovers of South Tyrolean wines and beyond, thanks to its strong ability to make the most of the character of its territory. Founded in 1907, this cooperative winery has been able to carve out a leading role year after year within the Italian wine reality. Hans Terzer, oenologist of the Cantina dei Produttori di San Michele Appiano since 1978, has the great merit of having directed the production of the cellar towards a high quality production, setting his work on the care of every detail with a perfect combination between the value of tradition and the importance of innovation. San Michele Appiano today is passionately dedicated to giving life to great white and red wines, the perfect synthesis of this fantastic terroir that allows the breeding of several great vines. The cooperative brings together around 340 winegrowing families scattered in various locations on the outskirts of Bolzano. The vineyards extend for a total of 380 hectares in territories with different characteristics, mostly included in the municipality of Appiano. The production, entirely led by Kellermeister Hans Terzer, is planned through the study and enhancement of each individual vineyard. Fermentations take place in steel, with refinements that can also be carried out in large oak barrels or in barriques. Regardless of the bottle you choose, St Michael Eppian will be able to bring an important piece of South Tyrolean history into your glass, a wine produced with the passion and expertise that only a great producer can give.
