Description

ABOUT THE WINERY:

Castello della Sala is one of the properties of the Antinori family, one of the dynasties that made the history of Italian wine starting from the 14th century. Today Antinori manages a heritage made up of farms located in some of the most famous wine territories of our peninsula: the Antinori Chianti Classico Estate, the Tignanello Estate, Villa Antinori, Badia Passignano, Pèppoli, Pian delle Vigne in Montalcino, Guado al Tasso in Bolgheri , Fattoria Aldobrandesca, Le Mortelle, La Braccesca, Tenuta Monteloro, Tomaresca, Prunotto in the Langhe and Tenuta Montenisa in Franciacorta. The Castello della Sala property is located in Umbria, not far from Orvieto and the border with Tuscany, in an area that has been suited for the production of great wines for centuries. The vineyards are cultivated with the utmost respect for nature, in harmony with an uncontaminated environmental context. Healthy and high quality grapes are the basis of a range of wines with a strong and recognizable personality. The Castello della Sala labels are made with a style which, starting from the most ancient traditions of the Orvieto area, looks towards famous international models. Cervaro della Sala, made with Chardonnay and a small percentage of Grechetto, recalls the great whites of Burgundy vinified and aged in barriques, just as the Conte della Vipera, an assembly of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, is inspired by the whites of Bordeaux. Among the labels, Muffato della Sala stands out, one of the very few dessert wines produced in Italy with grapes affected by Botyitis Cinerea.
