To discover the origins of the Maison Laurent-Perrier we must go back to 1812, the year in which the cellar was founded by André and Michel Pierlot. Located in Tours-sur-Marne, in Champagne-Ardenne, it was in 1881 that the company’s fortunes were written, when Eugene Laurent, the Pierlots’ cellarman, decided together with his wife Mathilde Emilie Perrier to take over the maison assuming its leadership, and later changing its name precisely to Laurent-Perrier. From here, among various vicissitudes, history leads us to Mary-Louise Lanson de Nonancourt first, and then to her son Bernard, who represents the true soul of the champagnes that can be tasted today. Currently led by the daughters of Bernard, Alexandra and Stephanie Lanson de Nonancourt, the Maison now has 150 hectares of vineyards and is distinguished by a special and unique style, undoubtedly also due to the obsessive search for perfection in all production steps, starting from the rows to get to the bottle. In the vineyard, the approach is minimalist, so we tend to cultivate plants with maximum respect for the environment, nature and the ecosystem. In the cellar, the philosophy followed is no different: by vinifying each single plot separately, the Laurent-Perrier maison has been working the grapes in steel tanks and at controlled temperatures since the 1950s, so as to keep the freshness and aromatic complexity of the fruit intact and unaltered . Finally, during the sparkling process, each step is controlled with method and rigor, using the most modern oenological technologies, always used without ever outclassing the most ancient territorial traditions.
